چکیده

A novel fourth-order voltage-mode switched-capacitor bandpass ∆Σ modulator, using direct-charge-transfer pseudo-N-path resonators, is described. This modulator is insensitive to component mismatches and finite opamp bandwidth, and is also less sensitive to finite opamp gain than previous bandpass ∆Σ data converters. It is therefore suitable for high-speed communications applications.

Low-Voltage High-Speed Switched-Capacitor Circuits Without Voltage Bootstrapper

Low-voltage high-speed switched-capacitor (SC) circuit design without using voltage bootstrapper is presented. The basic building block used for low-voltage SC circuit design is the auto-zeroed integrator (AZI), which can work at both low voltage and high sampling frequency. With this method, two low-voltage SC systems were successfully designed and implemented in 1.2m CMOS technology. The firs...

A 2.5MHz 55dB Switched-Current BandPass Σ∆ Modulator for AM Signal Conversion

We present a Switched-Current (SI) fourth-order bandpass Σ∆ modulator IC prototype. It uses fully-differential circuits in 0.8μm CMOS technology to obtain a Dynamic Range (DR) larger than 55 dB at 2.5MHz center frequency with 30kHz bandwidth in accordance to the requirements of AM digital receivers. The prototype incorporates a single-ended to fullydifferential current-mode buffer for testing p...

Behavioral Modeling of Switched Capacitor Integrators Based on Symbolic Admittance Matrix

This paper proposes a symbolic node admittance matrix representation approach to the behavioral modeling of switched capacitor (SC) integrators. This new model provides a better representation of the node voltage evolutions without the need for a fixed time step in the system. The newly proposed mode provides a more reliable behavioral model of the degrading effects of settling errors and the e...

A 300-mV ∆Σ Modulator Using a Gain-Enhanced, Inverter-Based Amplifier for Medical Implant Devices

An ultra-low-voltage low-power switched-capacitor (SC) delta-sigma (∆Σ) modulator running at a supply voltage as low as 300 mV is presented for biomedical implant devices, e.g., cardiac pacemakers. To reduce the supply voltage, an inverter-based amplifier is used in the integrators, whose DC gain and gain-bandwidth (GBW) are boosted by a simple current-mirror output stage. The full input-feedfo...

TP 4.6: A 900mV 40μW Switched Opamp DeltaSigma Modulator with 77dB Dynamic Range

Portable electronic systems require low-voltage low-power building blocks. An important building block is an A/D converter. ∆Σ ADCs provide an efficient way of trading off speed for resolution. The switched opamp (SO) technique allows design of switched-capacitor (SC) circuits at very low supply voltage without the use of multithreshold technologies or voltage multipliers to drive the switches ...
